The idea of a water based sculpture located in the CBD was first proposed by Hutt City Councillors in 2008. A tap near the work draws water from the Hutt Valley aquifer, people are able to draw water from the source. The tap is a source of water in any emergency.
This work in front of the Dowse Art Museum is by artist Ronnie Van Hout. It shows an industrial giant that has fallen. Children delight in the size of the work and its eyes.
